A good algorithm allows you to have a healthy community development environment.
Where there is dependence on the platform itself and its content, rather than on what it conveys more deeply, such as its message, the ultimate goal of serving its users is lost.
Algorithms can be optimized to exclude videos with inappropriate content, but clearly not every platform adopts a universal standard as it should. On the other hand, moral standards are universal for everyone, which seems obvious.
So, they are doing great right now, but not in the long run.
You need to nurture your visitors well. That’s what you want.
Another idea is to use the time spent on social media and similar platforms to edify and inspire others.
An interesting algorithm could be to suggest content (videos, articles, podcasts, etc.) that is 50% related to your preferences or the content you are currently viewing. The remaining 50% could be content related to those interests. This would allow you to broaden your discovery.
An alarm that alerts you when a certain amount of time has passed (5-10-30 minutes).
Or a feature that logs you out of your account after a certain amount of time.
These considerations should allow for a better user experience of the platform, as well as benefiting the users who visit it.
