Sports such as swimming are not the only “complete” sports, in fact walking or free-body gymnastics (aerobics) that we practice at home is a complete sport in its training structure.
Certainly in addition to providing relaxation both provide several benefits. Swimming has less impact on the joints, compared to typical exercise in gymnastics or even more so in the gym (with the use of weights and similar equipment).
However, this impact may be more or less, depending on each person’s specific situation. In any case, these sports can certainly be combined, for a variation of motor activity.
This also helps on a mental level, for reflexes and mental health. Certainly practicing one or many of them has its benefits.
First, of course, you consider what you want to do; perhaps initially try one and then expand the choice.
Clearly then there are sports that emphasize team collaboration (soccer, volleyball, basketball) and this has other aspects that can test one’s communication and comprehension skills.
The other sports could be considered more “lonely,” but without being completely so. In any case, it can be seen that even so one is dealing with oneself (as with other sports, and life) and so one should know how to treat oneself well, patiently overcoming challenges.
Even a simple walk, however, one could see it as a simple form of sport, in any case a physical movement and mental relaxation, especially if one takes a walk in the mountains, or dedicated sport such as hiking, not to mention climbing.
This relaxation, or almost form of meditation, reflection, introspection, is important; as it has always been in cultures.
Every moment is certainly important, and there are some that are more special and dedicated, such as precisely meditation or similarly prayer.
Where even in the holidays one understands from mistakes how to improve, maintaining vigor. And one comes together and helps each other to improve without forgetting one’s faith, moving closer to the Lord.
